Saltwater Chinese Playgroup Family Fun Day
We would like to invite you and your child/ren under 5 years old to our playgroup.
Little ones will have a fantastic time exploring Chinese culture through a variety of engaging activities:
- Chinese calligraphy: Try your hand at the beautiful art of Chinese calligraphy.
- Storytime in Mandarin: Listen to captivating stories told in Mandarin.
- Sing-alongs: Enjoy singing popular songs originally in Mandarin and beloved classics like “Old McDonald Had a Farm” and “Twinkle Twinkle Little Star” translated into Mandarin.
- Chinese games: Play traditional Chinese games such as “Throw the Handkerchief” (similar to “Duck Duck Goose”).

Organiser
Having originally started from Feb 2023, Saltwater Chinese Playgroup have been providing the community kids with chances to try Chinese activities like calligraphy, dragon dance and moon cakes making; and enjoy Chinese cultural crafts, songs and stories. The organisers were originally 3 volunteers Sarah, Meiyi and Meredith. There have been more volunteers outside the playgroup and from the carers among the playgroup families joined in as the organisation grew over the past years. We are thankful for the community’s support, and are also proud to offer the community children opportunities to get in touch with Chinese culture in a foreign country.
