Wyndham City Council are celebrating 10 years of the Green Living Series with green living superstar, Hannah Moloney! Here at the Green Living Series we are all about helping community to live a little greener at home, reducing our impact on the environment, connecting with nature and protecting it for generations to come. We believe that words, ideas, and actions can change the world. And Hannah Moloney has dedicated her life to all three! She is one of ABC’s Gardening Australia presenter, an accomplished permaculturalist, a bestselling author, and a staunch climate activist.
Hannah spent more than two decades working with people in and out of the garden (or farm) to build climate resilience and advocate for effective climate action. Then, in 2013, she established Good Life Permaculture in Tasmania, which offers workshops, landscape design, and community projects aimed at building good lives and landscapes for all. Hannah co-founded Source Community Wholefoods (Hobart’s only food cooperative) and the innovative former Hobart City Farm. She founded Home Harvest – the annual edible garden tour around nipaluna/Hobart and has been involved extensively working with local Councils teaching home composting to residents to reduce organics heading to landfill. Her first book ‘The Good Life: How To Grow A Better World’ (2021) explores ways to counter the climate emergency individually and collectively. It was reprinted an incredible three times within its first 6 months to meet demand. Hannah’s activism is driven by radical hope and the profound knowledge that ordinary humans are capable of doing extraordinary things, especially when they work together.
If there were more Hannah Moloney’s in the world, the world would be a better place. We all need to hear what she has to say. Join us for this inspiring talk and help us celebrate 10 years of the Green Living Series.
